Performance Balancer is fed by the mug-full and can be fed on its own, alongside forage, or with a chaff of your choice. It can also be fed with straights, like oats as well as with reduced amounts of hard feed or with a feed that is formulated for lower work requirements. Fed in this way, Performance Balancer allows you the flexibility to control a horse’s calorie/energy intake whilst still maintain optimum nutrition.
As a guide, if your horse is fed any of the feeds in Baileys’ Competition Range (Top Line Conditioning Mix or Cubes, All-Round Endurance or Competition Mix or Ease & Excel), for every 4lb/1.8kg of mix or cube that you feed below recommended levels, you should add in 1lb/0.45kg of Performance Balancer.
When fed as the sole concentrate, Performance Balancer is formulated to be fed at a rate of 100g per 100kg bodyweight, for horses in up to Moderate work, and at 150g per 100kg bodyweight for horses in Hard work. Table (right) is a guide only. Forage quality and quantity will also affect quantities fed.
