New Improved
Originally launched in 2010, Performance Balancer has always been at the top of its game and is fed by many of Baileys’ supported riders but is equally appropriate for any working horse who holds weight easily. A brief review has resulted in a few developments and improvements which we hope will go down well with horses and riders alike!
The First Balancer to Obtain BETA Accreditation
The launch of Ease & Excel drew a huge amount of interest from horse owners who either know their horses are prone to gastric ulcers or who are simply seeking the benefits of a low starch diet. Many, however, found their horses just don’t need the elevated calorie levels it supplies so we recommended Performance Balancer as a low calorie alternative. Now it has its own BETA recognition as a low starch, low sugar option for horses prone to gastric ulcers yet who are also, essentially, good-doers.

Enhanced Vitamin and Mineral Level
We’ve analysed an awful lot of forage and pasture over the past 10 years, and continually find that levels of certain vitamins and minerals are in decline, something which has to be addressed through the horse’s compound feed or balancer. For that reason, Performance Balancer now contains boosted levels of vitamins A, D and E as well as increased selenium levels. Vitamins A and E have antioxidant properties, as does selenium, while vitamin D3 is important for healthy bones.
Higher Biotin |
More Concentrated |
Healthy hoof growth is about a range of nutrients, all of which are supplied by Performance Balancer at excellent levels. Biotin levels have always been good but we’ve elevated the amount it contains so that, when fed at recommended rates, Performance Balancer supplies a level proven to improve hoof quality.

As part of the revamp, we have made Performance Balancer more concentrated so the feeding rates are now slightly lower. This will mean that, for a 500kg horse in moderate work, a bag will last 6 weeks.
